Safety
WYARN is a small startup built by people tired of paywalls around communicating with and finding like-minded people. We want a simpler way for adults to meet nearby, with free browsing and messaging, real proximity ordering and no paid boosts. Ads and optional donations help support the project.
Meet with care
- Meet in a public place first, arrange your own transport and tell someone you trust your plans.
- Do not send money, financial credentials, verification codes or identity documents to someone you met here.
- Get clear, ongoing consent. Gender, interests and kink-friendly labels do not imply consent.
- Take your time. A daily selfie is not verification; people can misrepresent themselves.
Protect your location
Nearby uses a rounded area, but approximate distance can still reveal where you are. Share only when comfortable and hide your area when needed. Chat location sharing sends exact coordinates to the recipient after your confirmation. Avoid sharing your home, workplace or a location you cannot safely reveal. Revocation cannot remove a screenshot or copied coordinates.
Block and report
Block unwanted contact in the app. Report harassment, scams, suspected minors or inappropriate content, and avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive details. Reports are saved but are not monitored continuously. Three qualifying reports from different established accounts within seven days hide a profile and stop its outgoing messages. This is an automated safeguard, not proof of wrongdoing and not a guarantee that every harmful account will be caught.
Appeals and safety concerns can be sent to [email protected]; support is checked occasionally. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services. WYARN is not an emergency-response service.
Profile rules
Use one face selfie taken in the app. No nudity, explicit content, photos of other people or impersonation. Adults only. Report a suspected underage profile rather than engaging with it.
